Yep, that’s pretty much how I’ve been feeling the last few days more and more and more tired.  All the preparations and all the things to think about and stay on top of for my sweetie’s Healing Journey take mental and physical energy.  If you’d like to read about whether or not we’re making progress with lowering my sweetie’s  blood pressure, click here to go to the wellness blog.

My best friend is here for a two-week visit and it is always a joy to be with her. Today, she had scheduled a massage at the spa in the village. My plan was to drop her off, sneak down to the grocery store to buy a bag of chips – yeah, yeah, I know, full of bad stuff, but I was craving them – and then sit in the waiting room at the spa and read.  So, I did just that. Dropped her off, bought my chips, and ate a handful of them sitting in the car with the windows down.  It was a mild day and nice to just sit in silence.  Then I popped back up to the spa and when I stepped in, the massage therapist came out of her therapy room and asked if I would like to puppy sit.  She has a beautiful two-year old Irish Setter name Ruby.  Ruby and Mirza have had a few play dates and I knew that a 10 week old puppy was now in residence.  Did I want to puppy-sit?  You betcha!

I spent a delightful time playing and laughing and cuddling! The best part for me, I think, was that this gave me no time to think, or worry, or wonder.  I had to just be present!

And when all the fun was over, the dogs slept and I sat and read in absolute silence.  I’ve been mindful of taking care of my self and today, someone was looking out for me and knew this “time out” was just what my body and soul needed to feel refreshed.
